The Good Vibe Choir is a non-auditioning, fun and friendly pop choir
About
Hi! I’m choir leader Steph Brown. I’m a singer songwriter, professional recording artist, vocal coach and workshop leader, awarded three times by the Arts Council England.
I run The Good Vibe Choir with my partner Kev Minney in our vibrant hometown of Brighton and in nearby Lewes. We’re a fun, friendly, non-auditioning choir, open to all those who love to sing, meet friends and improve their vocals. Both the Brighton and Lewes choirs are backed throughout the term by Kev’s exceptional guitar playing, while I teach the vocal parts to our singers.
Each term ends with a showcase performance where we invite professional session musicians to join us on stage and join Kev to be our live backing band for the night! We bring our artistic experience and passion to The Good Vibe Choir to help you build confidence, meet new people and have a cathartic sing-song.
We pride ourselves on being a welcoming choir that is open to everybody – it’s my personal belief that everyone can sing!
What do you like about The Good Vibe Choir?
What do we sing?
I use my experience as a professional vocal coach to pick songs that feel great to sing. Our choir members get a say in the setlist too – at the end of each term we invite song recommendations. I write all the arrangements myself, so everything we sing is original.
Our Brighton and Lewes choirs both learn the same setlist each term, allowing us to join together for some of our showcases to form an even bigger choir!
Our repertoire includes a large range of pop ‘classics’, old and new, from artists such as David Bowie, Beach Boys, Beyonce, Bill Withers, Lady Gaga, Adele, Simon & Garfunkel, Billy Joel, The Kinks, Stevie Wonder, Queen and so many more!
‘‘I am so enjoying this choir! Steph and Kev are wonderfully enthusiastic and the songs have great arrangements. Everyone is made to feel they are an important part of the choir whatever their experience and musical knowledge (in my case almost zero!). I've made lots of friends and would encourage anyone to join’’
